Could candidate pledges curtail the influence of Super PACs?

As featured in the Jewish Journal, “Sherman proposed that he and Berman promise to donate to the U.S. Treasury an amount of money equivalent to any expenditures made by Super PACs on behalf of their respective campaigns.” To date, Congressman Berman has refused to sign the pledge.

Political Points: Sherman bests Berman

As JTA reported, “Rep. Brad Sherman got the support of a majority of local Democratic Party activists at a pre-endorsement conference, besting his fellow California Democratic incumbent Rep. Howard Berman by a vote of 77-52. The vote sets the stage for an endorsement battle at the state party’s convention next month.”

Dukakis Goes Sherman

As mentioned in Politico “Rep. Brad Sherman [brought] on the big guns in his shootout with Rep. Howard Berman (D-Calif.). Former Gov. Michael Dukakis and his wife Kitty [hosted] a dinner fundraiser Jan. 19 for the California Democrat.”
