California League of Latin American Citizens, Salvadoran Independent Political Movement and Latino Leaders Express Support for Congressman Brad Sherman
Brad Sherman secured several key endorsements this week in his race to represent California’s 30th Congressional District. The California League of Latin American Citizens (CALLAC) and Salvadoran Independent Political Movement (MPI) issued endorsements in support of Congressman Brad Sherman. These groups join key endorsements from Los Angeles Supervisor Gloria Molina, Lieutenant Governor (ret.) Cruz Bustamante and the Latino Democrats of Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley in support of Brad Sherman.
The MPI, the largest organization representing Salvadorans, wrote “Congressman Sherman, there is no question that your agenda combines practical experience with bold new ideas to get our economy back on track, and move the nation forward.” They go on to say “we admire your strong family values, your leadership, wisdom and your friendship to the Salvadoran community and Latinos as a whole.”
In addition to the endorsing organizations, the Coalition announced that National League of Latin American Citizens President Jaime Martinez had personally endorsed Representative Brad Sherman. Martinez, is also the founder and President of the Cesar E. Chavez Legacy and Educational Fund.
Independent analysis shows that Sherman prevailed among Latino voters in the June election by a 4 to 1 margin, while winning among all voters by 10 percentage points.
